 Customer Service/Visitor Information Centre Officer 

Job Type:

 Part-time, fixed term - minimum 25 hours a fortnight with one weekend per month required and flexibility to agreed hours during the week.  

Tenure:

 Fixed term until 4 January 2027

Location:

 Queenscliff - 50 Learmonth St & 55 Hesse St. 

Band:

 Band 4; $34.97 - $37.18 per hour, plus super.

Job Description

Position objectives 

This position will:

  • Provide an efficient and effective customer service to ratepayers and visitors and ensure customer enquiries are dealt with in an expeditious and courteous manner.
  • Work in front-line customer service across two distinct Council teams: the Customer Service team at the Council offices (50 Learmonth St) and the Visitor Information Centre (55 Hesse St).

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience in customer service and administration.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including excellent telephone and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel) and demonstrated ability to learn other office software systems.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including proven ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • A desire to prioritise community needs and to genuinely wish to help others.

Mandatory Requirements  

  • You have the right to live and work in Australia
  • A current Working With Children Check (or must be obtained before commencing employment)
  • Police Check (must be obtained before commencing employment)
